ERNi-CI Cast Iron Welding Electrode
ERNi-CI Cast Iron Welding Electrode Introduction
AWS class ERNi-CI is a nominally 99% Nickel wire. Nickel is expensive, and so, therefore, is this premium wire. The wire will deposit welds that are machine-able, an important consideration when the casting is to be machined after welding. Repairs made with Ni 99 are often single pass welds with high admixture. Even with high admixture, the weld deposit will remain machine-able. It works best on castings with low or medium phosphorous contents.
It can also be used for overlay and buildup. However, dilution from the casting influences the mechanical properties of the metal. The welds are easily machinable. A preheat and interpass temperature of 350ºF (175ºC) minimum is recommended during welding.
ERNi-CI Cast Iron Welding Electrode Application
ERNi-CI cast iron welding electrode is designed primarily for automatic and semi-automatic welding of ductile, malleable or gray cast iron to itself or to dissimilar metals such as low alloy and carbon steel, stainless steel, iron, copper, Monel, etc.
ERNi-CI electrodes are excellent for the buildup of worn parts, repairing machining errors or defective castings where maximum machinability of the deposit is required.
It can be used in any position. Produces high-quality welds with a minimal amount of effort. Weld deposits are strong, dense and fully machinable. Color will match that of cast iron.
Packing: In cartons of 20kgs net each, consisting of 8boxes x 2. 5kgs for size 2. 5mm and 4boxes×5kgs for other sizes.
